You raised an excellent point by stating that Cuthbert himself isn’t the main problem, it’s the Corporate Governance or lack thereof that has caused this farce. I have a corporate governance background and have tried unsuccessfully over the past 18 months to get a clear picture of corporate governance legislation and enforcement in Zimbabwe.
More importantly you’ve brought the conversation back to another fundamental issue. The management salaries at PSMAS wouldn’t cause as much anger and disappointment if members were getting the services for which they were paying. From what I have seen there are many medical practitioners who will not accept PSMAS cover because of previous failure to pay by the insurer.
And now the question of ‘where to from here?’ remains. Only time will tell if there are any repercussions for those who have mismanaged funds.
That’s the issue that REALLY concerns me right now i.e. ‘where to from here?’
Nigel… Personally, I cannot come to terms with such unbelievable greed. Surely, these employee/directors/executives have breach their fiduciary duties of care and responsibility towards the entity/community they serve. “PSMAS – We value your heath” and our executives wealth too! Its shocking.
One person on twitter described the hefty salaries as ‘pornographic’. Let’s watch the impunity continue, sadly

They need to revise their CORE VALUES as a group cos really they fall far too short.
