CSO Roundtable 26 Sept 2013 Bit & Kagoro

I attended the CSO Economic Governance Roundtable on the 26th of September 2013 at the Royal Netherlands Embassy. The topic was: Post-election economy & the role of non-state democratic actors in Zimbabwe.

The speakers were Outgoing Finance Minister, Tendai Biti and Brian Kagoro. They spoke very well about our beloved, the last few years and what we need to consider going forward. For someone like me who has repeatedly spoken about the need to address the ‘bread and butter’ issues, I found this discussion extremely useful and enlightening. Given what Biti had to say regarding the last 5 years, I hope to one day read his memoirs (hint). This last 5 years in government for Biti would make for interesting reading for the rest of us I would imagine.

Kagoro is a UNDP Programme Adviser and a human rights activist. He is also a founding member of the NCA (National Constitutional Assembly).
